Modeling and Optimization of Isolated Combined Heat and Power Microgrid for Managing Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS Energy

With the rapid growth of isolated micro-grids, combined heating and power (CHP) can be integrated with photovoltaic (PV) system. The integration CHP-PV systems has a tremendous potential to increase system reliability efficiency as well reduce energy consumption CO2 emission. However, operating models require considerable analysis due uncertainty load demand, so it is not easy apply in order simulate current trend baseline systems. In this paper, we developed based on optimum clustering data perform behavior using integrating accelerated particle swarm optimization (APSO) fuzzy subtractive (FSC). objective APSO algorithm tune parameters clustering-based FSC proportional integral (PI) controller. paper’s main goal minimal total fuel without compromising demand cooling. proposed model interacts by gas turbine generators (GTGs) PVs Also, subdivides cooling use partial condition according outdoor weather. A case study Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP), Malaysia was used investigate its CHP plant. validated actual obtained from University results demonstrate that including CHP, PV, storage outperformed basic models. save 7 % 4.72 daily electrical steam production, respectively. optimal kept satisfied.
